Botox
What is Botox?
The main ingredient in Botox, botulinum toxin, has the effect of inhibiting muscle contraction, so when Botox is injected, the muscles relax and wrinkles are reduced.
Therefore, it can improve wrinkles that appear when you make facial expressions rather than deep wrinkles. It also has the effect of reducing stiff shoulders and excessive sweating.

About INNOTOX®
INNOTOX® is the world's first liquid botulinum toxin formulation, developed by South Korea's Medytox, a global pharmaceutical company that developed the first botulinum toxin formulation in South Korea and now operates in over 60 countries worldwide.
The botulinum toxin used in INNOTOX® was developed from a strain (C. botulinum type A Hall) stored at the University of Wisconsin in the United States. This strain is also used by Allergan, the US manufacturer of Botox® , and in 2014 Allergan signed a licensing agreement worth approximately 40 billion yen to acquire the sales rights for INNOTOX®. (Subsequently, with the reorganization of Allergan, the sales rights were returned to Medytox, and preparations are underway for FDA approval.)
INNOTOX® has the following three features compared to conventional botulinum toxin preparations:
1. Completely free of animal-derived substances
INNOTOX® is the world's first formulation that is completely free of animal-derived substances and human serum albumin.
This helps prevent side effects of human serum albumin, such as fever, low blood pressure, difficulty breathing, dermatitis, and hives.
(Since the early 2000s, Europe and the United States have recommended not using animal-derived substances or human serum albumin in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.)
2. Highly stable liquid formulation
Conventional botulinum toxin preparations are in powder form, and are dissolved in saline or other liquids before injection at each clinic. This preparation process can result in differences and inconsistencies in concentration between clinics.
On the other hand, INNOTOX® is a liquid formulation, so there is no need for each clinic to dissolve it in saline or other liquids. This eliminates the risk of variations in concentration between clinics. It also reduces the risk of bacteria or viruses getting into the body during the preparation process.
Furthermore, conventional botulinum toxin preparations require frozen storage, raising concerns about the risk of deterioration during transportation. However, INNOTOX® can be stored refrigerated at 2-8°C, reducing the risk of deterioration during transportation and increasing the stability of the preparation.
3. Long-lasting effects
In a phase III clinical evaluation of INNOTOX®, it was reported that its effectiveness was maintained for a longer period than that of conventional botulinum toxin preparations.
The effect begins to appear around 2-3 days after treatment, peaks in about 2 weeks, and then lasts for a long period of time (4-9 months) (conventional botulinum toxin preparations have been reported to last 3-6 months).
