Amino Index Test (Cancer Screening)
What is the Amino Index Test?
The Amino Index test, also known as the Amino Index Cancer Risk Screening Test (AICS), measures the concentration of amino acids in the blood. The balance of amino acid concentrations in the blood, which is normally kept constant, is known to fluctuate when a person's health condition changes. As the balance of amino acid concentrations differs between healthy people and those with cancer, cancer risk is assessed by statistically analyzing these differences.
A single blood draw of approximately 5ml allows for simultaneous testing for multiple cancers, and is suitable for early-stage cancers.
Cancer types addressed by Amino Index testing
● Male (5 types)
Stomach cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer, prostate cancer
● Female (6 types)
Stomach cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, uterine cancer, and ovarian cancer
(For uterine and ovarian cancer, it is possible to assess the risk of either cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, or ovarian cancer, but it is not possible to distinguish between the risks of each cancer.)
About the results
For each type of cancer, the probability of having cancer is reported as a number between 0.0 and 10.0 (AICS value).
The higher the number, the higher the possibility of cancer, and the diagnosis is displayed on a three-level scale: "Rank A," "Rank B," or "Rank C."
● Rank A : Less likely to be cancer than normal (0.3 to 0.7 times)
● Rank B: Slightly higher than normal (1.3 to 2.1 times)
● Rank C: Higher than normal (4.0 to 11.6 times)
Rank C requires detailed examination for each cancer.
The Amino Index test does not confirm whether or not you have cancer.
Each test has its own advantages and disadvantages, and it is believed that by taking into account the results of several tests in a comprehensive manner, the chances of detecting cancer are increased.
Also, the amino index test evaluates the risk of cancer at the time of blood collection, and does not evaluate the risk over a lifetime, so we recommend that you have the test done regularly.
