Autologous cancer vaccine treatment

What is autologous cancer vaccine therapy?

This is a type of immunotherapy that aims to induce a specific immune response against cancer in the body by administering a vaccine made from the patient's own cancer tissue, thereby achieving an anti-tumor effect.
This treatment is being carried out under technical support from CellMedicine.

Mechanism of action of autologous cancer vaccine therapy

Administered cancer vaccines are thought to exert antitumor effects in the following ways:

  1. Cancer vaccine administered intradermally

  2. Antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells and macrophages present in the skin consume cancer vaccines

  3. Antigen-presenting cells that have consumed the cancer vaccine migrate to nearby lymph nodes

  4. Antigen presentation in the migrated lymph nodes

  5. Proliferation and activation of specific CTLs (cytotoxic T lymphocytes) that can respond to the presented antigens

  6. The proliferated and activated specific CTLs migrate to the cancer site and kill the cancer cells.
